Customizing the look of MobyToday
Setting a background picture MobyToday accepts both jpg, gif and png images as background images. The images should be stored in your phone or on the memory card, and should preferrably be in the same size as the phone screen. If you use an image which is larger than the screen you will not see the whole picture in the background (and if the picture is very big, you might run out of phone memory when loading it). You set the background image by going to the menu Settings->Display Settings. Scroll down to the "Background image" option, and choose "User defined" (here you can also choose the default background or choose to use no background at all). After this go to the "Path to background image" option further down and type the path to the image file that you want to put in the background (here you can also see what size your picture should have). The format of the path to the image file will differ depending on the phone model and where the file is stored. The file path will always start with a file:/// and then the actual path to the file on the phone's file system. MobyToday will try to make a guess where it is stored, but you can change this to where ever the file is stored. Tip:If you are unsure of the file path to your image file, you can use our other product MobyExplorer to find out the file path to the image.
Making MobyToday conform to the skin/theme of your phone As mentioned above the background picture needs to be of the same size as the screen size of the phone. You can find out what screen size you have by going to the menu option Settings->Display Settings and scroll down to the "Path to background image" option. This will say what size your picture should have.
Some considerations for stand-by applications on Sony Ericsson phones:
Here is an example of a Win-XP style theme for S-E phones which support stand-by applications, to show how MobyToday
can be seamlessly integrated to the current theme. These themes use the same picture as the default background
image in MobyToday, so you should set the "Background image" in MobyToday to "Default", and then apply the theme.
Choosing the position of MobyToday in the stand-by screen This is done by going to Settings->Display Settings and scroll down to the "Offset from top of screen when in stand-by mode" option. Here you can experiment with the number of pixels from the top of the display, that MobyToday should start displaying information. Back |
