Using MobyToday as a stand-by application

MobyToday works on most newer mobile phones, but it is specially designed to be used as a stand-by application on the recent Sony Ericsson mobile devices. Running MobyToday as a stand-by application means that it will always be visible on your phone's stand-by screen.

How to find out if my phone supports stand-by applications
Please go here for a list of devices that supports the concept of stand-by applications.

Configuring MobyToday as a stand-by application
Configuring MobyToday as a stand-by application is easy. Just follow the below few steps and your all set.

1. Make sure MobyToday is installed in phone memory
Stand-by applications need to be installed in phone memory and not on the MemoryStick, so the first thing to do is to check this:

Go to either Applications or Games (depending on where you installed MobyToday). Highlight MobyToday, but instead of opening it, press More. Look at the second menu option. If it says "Move to M.S.", then it is already installed in phone memory. If it says "Move to phone" then it is installed on the MemoryStick and you need to move it to the phone by simply choosing this menu option

2. Set MobyToday as a Stand-by application
Go to either Applications or Games (depending on where you installed MobyToday). Highlight MobyToday, but instead of opening it, press More. Go down through the menu until you find the menu option: "Wallpaper". Choose this menu option.

Now go back to your phone's stand-by screen. MobyToday will now start automatically. It is important that you let MobyToday start automatically, by going to the the stand-by screen. If you first start MobyToday manually and then go to the stand-by screen, MobyToday will not be visible.

Switching between stand-by and active mode
When MobyToday is in stand-by mode you can not interact with it. It is acting as an active "wallpaper" on the stand-by screen. If you want to interact with MobyToday, like e.g. viewing or deleting an appointment, or customising MobyToday according to your preferences, you need to put MobyToday into active mode.

You put MobyToday into active mode by using the activity menu on your phone. Press the activity menu button and go to the Running apps tab. Highlight MobyToday and press Resume. You go back into stand-by mode by using the Minimize button from within MobyToday.
